Shipwrecks
Oil on Canvas
22" X 26"
2020

Shipwrecks is about the tragedy of history. Its composition is related to a similar image by Jim Moon, who was a good friend and a wonderful painter. Jim was an American Surrealist (though he disliked the term) who knew Peggy Guggenheim, and told me lots of great stories about his art adventures; like the time he crashed Ms.Guggenheim's boat in the Venice canal. Shipwrecks was accepted into 2021's 'Best of the East Coast' at 311 Gallery, Raleigh, N.C.
