The Burned Church
The Burned Church
Oil on Canvas
12" X 12"

The Burned Church is a painting of what was left of a church in downtown Charlotte, N.C. after a massive fire destroyed much of it.
It was later rebuilt to become the McColl Center for Art and Innovation, which remains a vital institution for the arts in Charlotte. I was fortunate to have been chosen as one of the first Charlotte artists to be granted a Residency there (2000), and have very fond memories of that 3 months.
