Dante Aligheri was the poetic expositor of the architecture of Hell. He condemned the Greedy Wasters and the Miserly Hoarders to Circle 4, Avarice. These sinners push and pull enormous boulders toward one another, eternally. In my painting, these rocks are gigantic gold nuggets.
