This painting was unfortunately damaged recently, and I’m having to repair at least a section of it. It was based on Bocklin’s ‘Isle of the Dead’ that I enjoyed many years ago at the Met in NYC. My good friend Nikolaus Mohr, a German painter and art critic, had done a series of them, and I told him I was going to do one.
