Page 1 of a text and pen & ink illustrations I created called The Art of Dying Well. It's a modern version of Medieval texts that advised people on how to prepare to meet their maker. I realized that we also have plagues and pandemics, and people today in hospital only have People magazine and television to look at, and nothing to give them practical advice about how to prepare themselves and their family for the end of life. My story is a conceit about an everyman who becomes terminally ill. It follows the scientific stages of his decline and dying, then follows the journey into his afterlife, suggesting that I know what happens to a person after death.
