Figure Model
Figure Model
Oil on Canvas
14” x 16”

I was just out of college, 1978. This may be the first painting I did after Syracuse. I was living with my father in Montclair, NJ for a time, and he ran a figure drawing class. This young woman was a model there. I got her to model for me. It’s unfinished, but I like the state it’s in. My father loved this painting, and told me I’d be famous for my portraits! But I thought it wasn’t serious painting to just do your friends, I was a kid- I had principles!
