God's Wife of Amun was an ancient Egyptian sorority of powerful women. This painting, which has always been a favorite of mine, was taken from a sculpture, parts of which were broken or incomplete. I completed it as a painting. Egyptian art has had a big influence on my painting, for its easily readable shapes, and beautifully abstracted lines and forms. For a time I painted using the ancient Egyptian color palette.
