The compositional model for this is Tiepolo’s 'stage sets' illustrating the contrast between the life of the privileged elite, and the teeming impoverished masses’ struggle for justice and survival. Justice sleeps while autocrats come to power, and people’s basic human and civil rights are steadily removed. 'Justice' is cruel and unequally applied.
