Looking at Degas’ wonderful early history paintings gave me the idea of doing a classical history painting myself.
In Ezekiel 37, God commands him to profesy to the dry bones of the Israelites. He does, and the bones acquire flesh and arise from the desert sands. This vision symbolizes God’s restoration of the exiled Israelites land.
