A 2 hour Oil Painting class still-life. I found the plaster head in a supply closet and immediately thought it would make a good model. Serene and meditative. It reminded me of all the ancient Egyptian and Roman sculptures broken with hammers by early Christian zealots. That thought gave me a way into painting this reflecting, and rising above, a world of racial animus.
